I am an Indian dancer, choreographer and teacher. While I have an interest in different dance forms from Indian Classical to Modern Jazz, my style is a combination of Bollywood and Hip-hop. I have been performing since I was 7 years old and have experience choreographing performances for dance recitals, competitions, and special events. With a passion for cultural exchange and community, I am really excited to share my love for Bollywood dance with the Brussels community.
What is Bollywood Dance?
Bollywood is the name of the film industry based in Mumbai which is one of the largest film production centers in the world. Most of these movies have multiple music and dance sequences built in the story. This unique dance style started with Indian classical and folk dances and has evolved with the influence of cabaret, disco and more recently hip-hop and street dance. Today, it's the amalgamation of a lot of different styles but is always characterized by active footwork and expressive body movements. Want to know more?
